In case you fished it up (while fishing for fish) you'll have to pick one from the shallows to actually get the discovery.

Is butchering farm animals determined by survival or farming?

Searching 'butcher farming survival' quickly yields 'Butchering tamed animals is now quality limited by Farming, rather than Survival'

A credo requires me to rat green kelp. Where can I find it and how much exp.per do I need? I got it's found on water but I've been searching for a while and found nothing.

I started to see kelp around 5000 per x exp. It's a forageable in shallow water like mussels. You'll know once you see it, the icon is something obvious that you would see and think "kelp".

Jeez 5000? Why is it the first quest on my first credo?

Is there a penalty for abandoning the quest for another?

Abandoning the quest will reduce the counter of completed quests by two, which can have side-effects in case the last quest gave a +attribute or +abilities reward. Abandoning the fist quest will abandon the credo (wasting the LP cost to start it).

Well I don't have much of a choice. I am ages away from 70x70. Maybe adjusting quests to fit the toon age and level is in order. RNG like this ruin the experience especially for starting players.

Which animals will aggro even if not attacked? I know bats, boars, bears, vipers, badgers... Is there a complete list?
