The $15 option isn't really there for you to play. Ostensibly it is there so you can buy other people playtime - so for instance if a valuable (the ever lovely nolifers) member of your village can't afford to sub that month, or just doesn't have plastic or paypal and so can't sub, you can get them a token to keep them working. Or you can buy them for gifts, and they'll probably lead to some pretty well attended tournaments one day with them as rewards assuming the new payment model doesn't kill the game.
In reality ofc they're there for p2w people. With a month token you'll be able to buy all the best items people can craft, in quantity. Unlike old haven where everyone who had stuff worth having also had all the OTHER stuff worth having (because they or their village mates had a ton of alts who were good at everything and run by bots), you can't craft a token. It's essentially a real-money transaction, but with the risk added of having it stolen (great risk because many people will set it as their goal after burning their first one or three months of sub to play forever without paying again). This is how jorbtar will actually keep Haven afloat I imagine, on the backs of these p2w people. They could have done it with just more reasonably priced cosmetics like tons of other MMOs do, but with the overpriced cosmetic options their best income will probably be people buying tokens to get bulk loads of high q food and lp items.
We can still hope that the sub model will cut down on the bots and alts somewhat tho, hopefully without denuding the population as soon as everyone's free time runs up, so there's that.
