How do I leave the spawn area?

This question has probably been asked before, but how do I leave the spawn area? I just started playing Eternal Alpha, and I set my character's gender to female. I enter my name, enter the place with the runestone and rose(?) but nothing happens, and I'm just stuck there. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
