How do I get my perception up?

I cannot get carrots yet, is there any other easy way?

iirc the bough hat gives you +1 perc
It is nice to rest your weary bones from time to time. It is nice to lay down your burdens. It is nice to have a seat.

Aphids, raided from ant hills, are the only early foragable I know for sure that haven't been mentioned yet but I think they also give Agility FEPs.
