how to be a sword guy

what do i need to do to be a sword guy

and if I use swords does that mean I can't do archery?

does it take a long time to get all the stuff?

You'll want to train up Melee Combat once you're established and can survive. You'll also need to be able to mine up metals to forge a sword out of. You can buy marksmanship and train bows, as well as unarmed combat, even if you intend to focus on melee combat. This will take time and preparation though, as you'll need lots of infrastructure to get any of this.
