Add each other and party up, then walk in the same direction like north or northwest until you see an arrow pop up. There is no easy way to find each other.

I can also confirm that even if you are on the exact same LAKE you will probably not see an arrow. It made us be on the same map tile before we could see an arrow.

There's a world map being worked on that can help you a lot if you can recognize your minimaps on there.

Kin each other in the Kith & Kin menu, invite each other to a party, and then head towards a mutual location until an arrow appears to lead you to each other. Better maps are being worked on and the devs may implement better methods to find each other soon.

If you inherit your dead character then you get their property and spawn nearby it their property/hearthfire.

If you die, one of three things can take place: you have a hearth fire. you spawn there.

you don't have a hearth fire, but have a claim. you spawn at the last claim you built.

you have neither. you have to spawn in the wilderness.
