mining and ore smelting?

Has anyone found out how to get any mining tools, or how to do ore smelting? I have been mining with my hatchet but it's really slow. I have the metalworking and mining skills, but no ability to make a furnace or ore smelter.

i found smth called "Iron ochre" after burn it calls now "Gneis". How to get metal, does smbody found ore or smth?

Kinda useless other than as a neat tidbit that those exist Haven't gotten mining/smelting yet.

From my discoveries, all ores have a veiny texture-like to their model, like this Chalcopyrite (And Malachite as well has a green tinted hue of the same texture)




Proof it is an ore:

Black ore has the same texture, so it seems to me all 'ores' are a different hue of that veiny rock texture, while all 'stones' are a smooth/flat texture and different colors.

I'd assume that just like old Haven, ores have only a small chance to actually be metal.

Gneiss is also a type of rock you can mine, so it is just a simple stone.
