My char was missing the entrails discovery for making it. Otherwise you need to discover mirkwood and tree/bush seeds. I only have the basic skills atm, so it shouldn't take anything fancy.

I hear blocks from stumps are needed. Will test when I get home.

Blocks from mirkwood logs specifically. Those are the hollow ones you occasionally see lying around.
