Combat Guide?

Does anyone have a total beginners guide to combat?
It confused me in the first Haven, it looks easier in this one but I still have absolutely no idea where to start.

Is it basically, build a deck, start a fight, and hope your deck is the right one for the thing you're fighting?

How much UA is required to fight say: Ants, Foxes, Boars, Badgers?

Can someone teach me how to Dougie?

I don't think there is a more fleshed out and in depth guide for combat yet. Hopefully this can get you started
