Tar kiln: will it ever finish?

Postby LaserSaysPew » Tue Sep 01, 2015 8:21 pm

Built a tar kiln, dropped some wood there, lit it and it has been burning for about 3 days now. Will it ever finish?

When it does finally burn out supposedly you can collect coal.

You're gonna get a huge amount... eventually?

So I've heard anyway, getting ready to test that soon.

It should be said that the more you put in them, the longer it takes to finish.

On that note, why no interaction menu to give us an idea how much is left?

It does, I burned about 40 logs over 3 days and it gave a LOT of coal, but only at the end.

There should be a way to check how long it has left, or maybe just produce coal over time as well as tar?

Is it linear? Let's say 1 wood block burns for 2 hours, 10 will burn for 20?
Or is it like 40 blocks - 3 days, 1 block - 2.5 days, everything else is in between?

This. Why not add menu to this so we can check production status?
