Rustroot extract & prospecting

Postby Procne » Tue Sep 01, 2015 9:47 pm

Anyone figured out how to look for metal with rustroot extract? Everytime I prospect I'm told what kind of stone is below, instead of pointer to some ore.

Well, the different stones are the different kinds of ore.

Just a heads up - prospecting works and indeed shows you a pointer towards nearest ore IF there is ore nearby. If there is none then you get no pointer. Prospecting always shows what stone / ore is below.

I seem to have every stone in the game under my area but not 1 ore

anyone know what kind of area 10ql rustroot extract covers? is it just the tile you're on or is it like a 5 tile radius

I found cassiterite, but there was no pointer pointing to the nearest ore. Even after I move a few step over and the rock underneath was limestone, no pointer appear for me pointing towards the ore.

What am I doing wrong? it is going to be just random luck to find ore with rustroot now, since I can only see whats under my feet.

He's talking out of his ass, there's no pointer or "pie slice" in the game. It only tells you what stone / ore is beneath. I've tried and tested this with hundreds of charges near several different ore and coal nodes. With jars of q10 and extract of q10.

There is a pointer. Seen one myself when found granite or something and it was pointing to iron ochre node like 1/10 screen away.

Q24 rust root extract took me to a node about a little over half of a mini map away.

There is a pointer and I have found several ore nodes (cassiterite, heavy earth, iron ochre). It doesn't point you to coal though. The pointer doesn't appear either when there is ore directly below you.

As to why lordrio wasn't pointed to the ore deposit a few steps away - I have no idea. Maybe quality has something to do with it, or maybe some skills
