Flattening terrain

Postby Granny » Wed Sep 02, 2015 8:42 am

Could someone walk me through using the survey tool to flatten land so it is possible to build there? I get the message that it is not flat enough, and I can`t for the life of me see what tile(s) is messing up my dream of a house.

Being a granny, my eyes are not really the best - adding to that it seems whenever I am able to play I have to play in the dark. Waiting for Ender to include a night- toggle.. thing.

Please help!

When setting the flag drag it across the area that you want to level. There are a few numbers now, a slider, and two options. The slider lets you set how high or low you want the land to be. The numbers tell you how much dirt needs to be removed, added, or will be left over after you start leveling it. Blue dots are land that is too low, red dots are too high, and green are just right. When possible your character will attempt to lower red dots first and dirt from that is automatically moved over to the blue dots leveling them at the same time. If a spot is blocked by pavement, objects, trees, rocks, structures, etc. then you will not be able to lower or raise that land until the obstruction is removed.

To begin leveling click the Make Level button. If you want multiple people to level at the same time, close out of the flag menu and let them use it to activate the Make Level button as well.

Once you're done click the remove button to get rid of the flag.

Best of luck!

Oh thanks!

It all became so much clearer now. I might be able to build this house after all.
