Destroying Hearth / Palisades

Somebody put a palisade around my hearth. I'm too weak to do any damage to the hearth or the palisade. GG?

GG. You'd need tons of water to break those. Time for a new character I'm afraid, unless you can break your own hearthfire. =(

With current lack of teleportation systems, why can't we break our own hearth fire? The previous reasoning about it (I'm assuming for alts...?) doesn't make sense.
