I guess that works if you have marksmanship but I had yet to get it. Now my materials to make a bow and quiver are in a damned cave full of bats. Never would have set up camp there if bats had been a thing before now. I call bullsh*t!!!

Just you wait, one of the dark forest (pine) biomes spawns them. That was a fun discovery.

Be patient and let them despawn before heading home and hope for a clear shot to your things. If you pave and claim the area you are likely able to block their spawns, allowing you to safely live there. Otherwise you can move out into the sunlight. =)

This is false hope. The bats are outside too. I saw three pairs of them in broad daylight.

You're right, they wrecked me too. They seem to be more aggressive outside of caves than in caves. Good luck D=

Fire seems to work. I'm building a path of firepits through a tunnel and so far they haven't spawned near them. They burn for about 3 hours with 2 blocks of wood for fuel each.

Developers seems like laughing from players while adding such things that making their life hard. They know that lots of players living in caves and added this things while most of those who live there are noobs and dont have good equipment to protect themself from bats.

I dont know how devs making such decisions but it only killing players desire to play. Today 2 of my friends died in cave when they logged and stopped playing (they were going to pay and continue playing, but now dont know if they will continue playing) since death in this game means a lot and it makes players piss when those death wasnt by their fault.

My team is living in cave and now there 2-3 bats on entrance and we cant use our items.
