They said that there wasn't any damage increasing over time wounds in game yet. Presumably this wound type will become one when they patch that in. Currently it's untreatable as far as I can see.

Wrote the text before we were entirely clear on how the system would work. Right now that wound is as inert as all the others, so you needn't worry too much. Just a bit of intestine hanging out of your guys gut, is all. No biggie.

Pumping con is actually quite generous, I think like +4hhp per level? You can temporarily cover with that while the devs get more healing mechanics in game.

Only wounds that "heal on their own" are healed by that (mentioned in the description). The rest are unhealable if stinging poultice or gauze don't heal them atm.

well I vote that wretched gore be temporarily a heal over time thing, it sucks having a huge number of your hp untreatable.
