Mining mechanics - let's find out

First block mined, first cave-in. Loftar stated that it is deterministic, so let's find out what this means.

Idea: post pictures of the cave-in from on-top, mark the tile you mined and the tiles changed by the cave-in.

I'll start with

See, a pseudo-random function that uses a tile coordinate as a seed is deterministic too.

If the server causes the exact same cave in if you mine the exact same tile technically satisfies that requirement of being deterministic.

As i got him it was deterministic to 'when' a cave-in happens, not neccecary the result.
But even on the result there are some rules, and it sould be interesting to know them.
