Ores?

Can anyone link me to a thread that lists all smeltable rocks please? I got black coal and I have no idea if it can be smelted, or just coal -.o

Black coal is fuel not ore, halfway there!
Takes 12 of them to smelt a batch of ore.

I've personally found bloodstone and horn silver as surface boulders and heavy dirt while mining.

iron ochre confirmed as a minable ore, but its... unpredicatble, for the amounts, assuming theres better iron

All ore is unpredictable just like in legacy, ochre probably about the middling ore producer between heavy earth (low) and black ore (high I'm assuming).

I've found black ore rocks in grassy areas, bright green biome, I bet they just randomly spawn around though. sadly I didn't keep any, thought i'd find a mine by now. guess ill go looking for that spot again.

I have been wandering and mining a ridiculous amount. All I can find is stone, and TONS of coal. Someone the other day was saying they have so much ore but no fuel to burn it.. I have the literal opposite problem. Enough coal veins to last my group probably forever, not a single bit of ore though.

Cassiterite - Tin
Malachite - Copper
Iron Ochre - Iron
Black Ore - Iron
Heavy Earth - Iron

The difference in types has an effect on smelting times as well as success rate for turning into bars.
I will update the list as more ore types are linked up to metals

I haven't found anything. Cave after cave after cave, stamina bar after stamina bar, not so much as a coal or ore. Is there a rustroot extract type thing in this game? Any way to prospect? This is getting absurd
