I've found Quartz, Sandstone and Basalt whilst mining
Yesterday I murdered a rock, beat up a stone. Hospitalized a brick, I'm so mean I make medicine sick.

Finally!!!! After how many times I scoured cave walls, I found iron! I had begun to think my area had no ore.

May I ask what your strength was when you mined this?

You can mine soft spots in caves with 10str Q10 axe. Hardness of the rock is not related to rock type (including if or if not it's an ore).

It was around 20~ strength. Like Sevenless said, you don't need high STR. However, I was finding it impossible to find ore with STR close to 10 because I could hit so few places, and the ones I could hit drained my stamina big time and made it a real slog. Going from 10ish to 20ish seemed to be a notable improvement.

Not true. Rocks have a native hardness, modified by a variance field in the map.

While i´m searching in a cave i found out there can be every 5 tiles another type of stone.
Is there any system behind like iron is always near coal or heavy earth next to shist something like that?
