Hunting

Postby Chiefwaffles » Sat Sep 05, 2015 11:27 pm

I've played HnH on and off again for a while, but I've never actually got into combat. Not even ants.

So if I wanted to start doing things like taming and hunting (mostly foxes and the like, but hopefully ramping up in the [far] future.), where should I start? Should I just poor points into UA, or do something else like get Archery/etc.?

Take a read through some of the combat guides, they cover that. There's a hunting guide in the Inn and a combat one in HDI I believe.

I'm really just referring to what kind of stuff I should invest in for hunting. Like I said in the OP, should I do something like just use UA? Should I invest in archery? Or something else?

Among other things, UA defines how effective your blocks are. You receive damage when an attack punches through your block, with the amount taken depending on how hard it punches through (or lots of damage if you don't block it at all). UA is the most important stat for combat.

Agility is also not to be underestimated in the new Haven. It heavily affects your cooldowns, meaning you can set up more blocks faster; with low Agility, the enemy will attack you faster than you can set up blocks and you'll inevitably lose unless you can kill the enemy first (unlikely if enemy has more Agility than you).
