In the past it was easier to get because you could create alts or shack up with more advanced people who could make you psyche food. Ah well. I guess I'll make rats on sticks for now.

That doesn't change the difficulty of getting psy food at world start, only how you use it.

And what makes you think you can't create alts? Sure they're more expensive than before, but the devs didn't make it impossible.
