what just happened with my ore walls?

Digged just a one tile ,while i was making coffie and back to keep mining my walls i just found this and can't understand what happened......random collapse??????

Maybe you found someone else's tunnel, or there's open areas scattered around underground?

I reported this exact thing in the bug sections recently. Jorb said he'd investigate it, haven't heard back.
