I personally use them to store things Id otherwise fill containers with, for example entrails I dont need to fill a cupboard or 2 I have 1 stockpile of them

Stockpiles are there so your need to fill all your cupboards and crates with random stuff. Stockpiles are awesome.

On this note, do piles of fish on your claim decay? I swore the one I had started looking a little off so I moved it inside my cabin.

Do stockpiles decay on village claimed land? I swear I've seen bones fall off my stockpiles from time to time. Want to know if it's safe to have my metal stockpiled on a vclaim.

Paging jorb on this one to see if he'll comment. i'm with you guys and hope the answer is no. Though I don't recall anything else decaying on just a village claim (as long as it is active), it's been too long to rely on memory, plus it's a new world with some new mechanics.
