It's a dryad. It's harmless and doesn't do anything but run around and have a good time.

For all we know they increase your odds of finding rare curios and having experiences, so maybe they can bring despair too. It's difficult to quantify in a meaningful manner so for now we have to watch them run through our walls and spread good cheer.
