Which stat needs raising?

Ok, I've found a spot where I can just mine (haven't found hard metal yet). But I tend to just run out of stamina before the hourglass runs out.

Will raising agility improve my stamina usage? Or would it be better to improve my strength? It's a lot easier for a low lvl character to increase agility.

Edit: Nvm, realised my nettle clothing was debuffing my agility, so went mining in the nude and managed to succeed

Aaaand - the rock behind the first wall is just too hard for me to mine. *sigh*

Keep on trying/ find other spots. You should settle only after you've found a place with everything you need in your vicinity, not just it looking nice, metal is one of those things. Good soil, water and clay are the others. Close vicinity to preferred biomes is another. Distance from neighbourhood, and by that game and resource availability another.

Thanks. I've settled here, there's actually quite a few caves in this area but I claimed the entrance to one and have set up base there. The ore here is too hard for me to mine at the moment, but it's a small mine with no other exits, so long term I'm sure it will suit me, and I've been exploring other caves nearby in the meantime.

Despite not finding ore yet (I didn't even have the skill when I settled), I still like this area. There are grasslands, forests, water, swamps (one thing I was finding hard while looking) and mountains within fairly close walking distance. I think I've actually managed to find each of the possible www's too. I have neighbours now, which stressed me to start with but they seem nice so maybe I'll actually be social in a game for once.

So: I suck at mining, but the area's not at fault To be honest, my biggest issue is probably that I need to raise my stats.

The hourglass keeps going even if you have 0% stamina.

mining ability is probably still the square root of strength and tool quality
