Any suggestions how exsploration system works?

So , if i boil 100+ cupboards of mussels , i didnt get any pearls if jorb dont wish to?

Each character has "fates" when it comes to rare curios. My current character seems to find bluebells and boletes, but my wife finds eidelveiss. Pearls appear to be part of this, some characters will get them reliably, others will effectively never get them.

I'd say 500 mussels and no pearl it's safe to assume you're not pearl fated.

Disclaimer: This is my personal interpretation of the fate system, Jorb is being intentionally mysterious about it.

RNG features in crafting systems/games are a very common mechanic.

That being said: The point of the fate system is to re-assign "rare" items from being botted/hoarded to something that's an occasional bonus but not something you can force grind. Because jorb's re-iterated that a couple times it makes me think there's some natural limitation on how much a character can find per day as well? These items should be viewed like everglowing embers or wonderous woodshavings now. Nice when you get them, but not worth force grinding the activity that produces them just for the curio output.

Still speculation. It's really not the end of the world though, promise.
