WWW and Biomes

Postby DaniAngione » Sun Sep 13, 2015 8:17 pm

I've tried searching but couldn't find any concrete results...

I'm aware that a lot of research would be needed for proper compilation, however - for now - does anyone know which biomes gives Barley, Hemp and/or Flax? I'm having a hard time finding any of these, even though I've wandered a lot already.

Thanks :)

From what I've read, it's not biome dependent. The biomes in one area (minimap sized) will give a certain group of www's, and if you're not getting what you want, travel further and you will find a different range.

I don't know how accurate that is, but it certainly worked for me; I think I've managed to find all the different varieties of seed in the game by doing a lot of walking.

After 4-5 previous worlds, it's about as accurate as anecdotal evidence can be. It's pretty much accepted as fact without an intensive study published.

If a person wanted to test this, they could just forage all WWW from a single minimap area and see what was produced. Track it by quadrant of the map tile you foraged from, or even further by subquadrant etc.

What I know for sure is that all my seeds came from the same 3 biomes I live nearby. All of them. And I've collected around 30-50 WWW.

All of them were either carrots, pumpkins, peppercorn, grapes, pipeweed and beetroots. So I've been wondering that maybe it could indeed be biome based, since I did travel far more than 2 or 3 minimaps

Seeds are indeed Biome based.

Barley are from Biomes that look like this.

This isn't proof. It's only proof of where you found it. More corroboration is needed before it can be taken as actual evidence of fact.

I'd kind of like them to be biome based, little bit of immersion there. But at the same time, what if you live miles deep into a pine forest with no plains in sight?

Two way street I guess, at least this way everyone can get everything no matter what biomes they live in.

I did finally found barley there.

Thanks :) I suppose this is one step closer to confirming it.
