New skill?

Ok, the latest patch introduces new skills to increase skill in a number of different areas, including mining ores. I can see Gardening, Plant Lore, and Steelmaking that are new.

Is Steelmaking the one referenced in the patch notes, or do I need to unlock a prior skill to get the one that improves mining ability?

There are more skills. For one, after you learn Steelmaking, there's Metallurgy which increases the quality of ores you find and improves your odds with wrought iron.
