Damn, I'm not sure where that starting room thing went to... Basics are this:
You start off in a large "room" wilderness area. You get a few pop-ups along the way that tell you want to do. First, you cross the river either right or left to pick your sex--male or female respectively. Next, you wander down a ways and run into a wizard in a pointy hate with a camp fire, and a fence with a runestone inside. Talk to the wizard to take a name. Finally, jump into the fire to spawn into the world. If you are inheriting from a dead character, use the runestone in the graveyard/fenced area before jumping in the fire.
You can wander around the room and collect various things and gain LP and experiences before leaving. Just a word of warning: the character doesn't save until you leave, so if you crash or quit, you have to start back over.
edit: @Sevenless-- Might not be a bad idea until the website is all updated. Just something simple like that, and with all the things you can do there now, it isn't a bad thing to give players a bit of an extra leg up.
