Might as well piggyback this question on this guys post. I just started mining, found some iron Ochre but have no recipe for a smelter or any way to...smelt it? What am i missing?

I believe there are natural pockets that exist in the world. Mining into them reveals them. It's not that everything went poof but that those empty tiles were never there to begin with.

You've discovered bricks, right? If you have maybe one of the new mining skills were added as a prereq to making a smelter.

Beats me on that one then. Pretty sure that's all you needed in legacy and I had no troubles unlocking it.

Yesd, I've baked and discovered a brick but i just bought metalworking today so you could be correct although it would be nice if they put that big of a change into the notes.

If they did maybe on accident? Metal Working literally says "you've learned how to smelt and forge the common metals".
