Food Trough

Does a Food Trough work when animal is within its radius, but unable to reach it physically? Do you need to build a separate one for every animal pen, or do you need just one (if its within the radius of course)?

in the past it worked like a bee hive to crops, just having it in its radius would be enough, it probably still works the same way. as long as there's food in it, you only need one.
