yes ,you can buy sub or any hat from store and it will increase a chance.

When you find one, the counter resets. Nobody has yet posted that they've figured the system out (and I won't expect them to do it, either, as it'll likely get changed if it can be brute forced.)

I was able to find a pearl within 30 first boiled mussels. Then I've managed to find another one, by random, maybe 100 casually boiled mussels later. Right now I've started to 'farm' them and I cant find shit. It might be because I almost always get a spider / web each time I go clam hunting I'll try gathering few cupboards of clams one day, and boiling it few days later (Given I won't fnd any rare curious in the meantime) and see how it works
