Primitive Fishing Rod?

Has anyone really figured out how to use this quickly? I find I spend a lot of time clicking the abilities but not actually achieving anything at a faster pace then normal fishing.

Different fish like different moves. You have to learn what moves particular fish like, and which they dislike. Then you have to figure out what kind of fish are available at your place. When you know that, after rather long experimentation, you will be able to quickly identify which fish is biting and then use proper moves to catch it quickly. Dunno if it's faster than passive fishing
