Hatching chicken eggs?

Postby satinembers » Thu Sep 24, 2015 9:33 pm

I have a coop with several hens and a cock and I've had my first egg for a couple days now but it hasn't hatched or shown any indication it's fertilized. I've also got a couple more eggs in that time. Are there any other requirements to get them to hatch or to get fertilized?
Maybe I need more food.

Did you leave it below one of the hens? I seem to remember that being a requirement.

I'll have to try again. I left it in the space right below the hen. I wonder if picking it up affects it? I've tried picking up the egg and right clicking on the hen but I didn't try picking the hen up and right clicking the egg..

In legacy, I believe picking up eggs caused them to go inert, and never to hatch.
Don't pick up eggs or hens.

I checked last night and my first egg had finally hatched, so I think it takes about 2 days. This morning another egg had hatched.

The hens and cocks still seem to be bugged, since mine have gone down in quality.

Btw, is it okay that my chicks eat about 40 points of foor per time? Something about 80 everyday. I can't say that it is reasonable numbers for 4 hens and 1 cock.
