Can animals go through stockpiles now?

I trapped a sheep against a cliffwall and boxed him in with stockpiles, ran to get my bow, and when I came back he was roaming free. Is this part of a recent update?

shouldn't be. u probably just did a poor placement I have a sheep in stockpiles and its been there for days now

You probably did poor placement, indeed, though arguably animals should take offense at such nonsense.
