Acquire experience when in slump?

Postby RickyP602 » Fri Sep 25, 2015 6:08 pm

I have been in a slump for over 3 days at this point. I never had this problem until my character died, and I made a new one. I have been going crazy over this, the people I play with are getting experience just fine, I cannot get any. I'm almost out of LP, at that point I can basically no longer progress.

Things I've tried, at least twice a day, most of them more than that:

    Farming
    Plowing
    Digging
Harvesting and letting a dream go
    sitting
    lifting and dropping an object
lifting and dropping a chair and table
    being around an animal
    interacting with a willow tree
    seeing a cave
    entering a cave
    crafting an item
walking on many many biomes, at least 15 different kinds
walking on a mountain, I've also tried purposefully walking on a mountain from night till dawn
    mining
    drinking
standing and moving in shallow water
    jumping up and down cliffs
    lighting a fire
picking flowers (nettles, dandelions, snapdragons, and thorny thistles)
    chopping down a tree
    creating a stockpile
    removed a stump

I do everything on this list at least, aside from the dawn mountain thing, at least twice a day, most of them more than that. I cannot for the life of me figure out just what experience I'm stuck on, or if my character is just bugged.

I log on my alt character and I get multiple events on him in less than 5 minutes. I have since killed him, praying that he was somehow bugging out my main character, that does not appear to be the case.

I'm so aggravated, because this makes an otherwise mostly fun game, the most annoying thing I do in my day.

Any advice from previous slumpee's would be greatly appreciated.

The biome related XP are all related to crossing biomes onto the one that triggers. Just being on a mountain doesn't cause most of them, walking onto mountain terrain does it.

But you've got a list of all the ones I can think of :/ Have you tried lighting a fire or two (lighting a smelter seems to be its own experience as well)? There's an XP for that. Also for foraging flowers (nettles count I believe)

Aha: also making a stockpile, cutting a tree down. Table may need symbel items on it to count.

Ah, yes, thanks for the reply! I will add those to my list of things I have done. I'll admit I didn't know those could proc experience. I thought the walking on a mountain at dawn was a special case or something. But it does stand to reason that if I walk on those biomes I did transition to them at some point.

I have not lit a smelter as we don't own one. We don't have ore, but maybe I'll build one to try and light it. Seems like a stupid thing to have to do, but I'm willing to attempt anything.

hadn't chopped down a tree is sometime, tried with no luck. My table does have symbol items on it. Thanks for the suggestions though!

oh yes, because this has obviously worked for me in the past three days that I've put over 10 hours in.

I hit a three day slump recently as well. It sucks, and nothing worked for me.

I did finally get a willow tree interaction, but I was standing directly beside it at the time. Not sure if it's relevant but just clicking on them while walking onscreen never worked so maybe.

Good luck mate :/

Not enough bricks right now, I'll have to build it later as I don't have the time to make them atm. Will try the smelter today though, and post how it goes.

Yeah I do make sure I stand next to it.

The slump wouldn't be so bad if my character had a buffer, but he was fresh and I've managed to get very little xp so it hurts really bad.

I'm like really gimped because of it. I have to carefully fill my mentory with good lp/xp ratio items hoping to make it through the slump. Meanwhile everyone I play with is gulping down mirkwoods like they are water, the jelly and salt is real.

Remove a stump, if you haven't.

Exiting a house at dawn
Entering mountain at dawn (being on it didnt seem to trigger it for me, anyway)

We actually should compile a formal list of these.. maybe someone has already?
