i got it from chalcopyrite, but i read somewhere that you can get it from malachite as well.

Malachite is copper ore, Chalcopyrite is also copper ore, but it's also iron ore (it's 75% iron, 25% copper or so). I've searched everywhere, and never seen a vein of either of these. I've asked other people and they've never seen them either.

Either it's really rare, doesn't appear on the cave layer, or is regionally located because I got tons of iron and tin around me but nothing else.

I recently found a malachite boulder in a forest. It's light green in color but otherwise looks the same as any other boulder. I also found a magnetite boulder on a mountain, it's dark grey.

Most if not all custom clients (I use Amber) allow you to add various trees/rocks to your minimap, ore boulders included. Very handy for early game metal acquisition.

Pretty much the way it has always been. You might have copper only on the layer right below you within an hour walk.

So, i prospected about 20 minimaps in all direction, and found nothing, why so, copper it's one of the most common metal on earth, why devs made it rare, i can't understand.

From the perspective of my village, copper has been harder to come by than steel. We haven't found more than a few boulders of malachite since we started playing at launch.
