Crafting Linen Cloth

I have Sewing. I have Basic Mechanics. I have discovered Hemp Fibers and Straw. I have crafted a Loom.

I can't find craft linen in the crafting menus and I can't find some hidden right click method to use the loom.

Am I missing a step?

flax, not hemp.

Another road block. I couldn't find any barley and barely managed to find someone that was cool enough to trade. Now I'm doomed to never find any flax...

I have 2 cupboard worth FULL of seeds, not a single barley or flax.

I play solo and only use one character. Will I really have to make another alt and pray he can find it?

Forage WWW in areas you haven't looked already. Foraging the same spots will get you the seeds you already have. If need be, make a map of your area so you can check off areas you've been.

I'll have to figure out how to make a map, but currently I far ranger when it comes exploring. I always end up somewhere new i haven't seen yet, and I rarely stick to my area. Except in cases where I'm looking for berries or string.

To map, I suggest getting a custom client where you can at least make your own maps with the cached map tiles. Otherwise, you can always do the old school method of mapping and draw by hand.
