Damage with UA and MC

Postby Grimfate » Tue Sep 29, 2015 6:03 pm

1:What affects the damage of i.e Chop and Punch?

2:Is it just a higher MC stat that makes your Chop deal more damage or does it increase the penetration through defensive moves?
or do i need a higher str + better weapon (with a high substance)?

3: Same as #2, but for punch, as in, does strength affect it? or agility?

4:does agility increase your "defensive moves" potency? or does it just lower the cooldown while increasing the opponents cooldown?

chop: MC affects penetration through moves (capped at 0.5 blocks broken at one end and 2 at the other), your str and the substance of the weapon affects the damage
ua attacks: UA affects penetration through moves (capped at 0.5 blocks broken at one end and 2 at the other) , your str (and the substance of your brass knuckles) affects the damage
agility: just affects relative cooldowns.

agility is very important.

Does it work the same way with defensive moves on my end, as in, having a high UA lowers the damage i take through my defenses?

Edit: And a final question, i got 30 UA atm and 1 MC, should i alternate and get both of em up since i want to use chop/punch alternatively

Yes, what matters is the delta, sqrt(attackweight/defenseweight), but as i said it is capped at either end by 0.5 and 2.

At the moment you should only use chop as a finisher really since its cooldown is quite long, so you should punch until they have no green block and then chop, which you *can* do with 1mc. However hopefully they will add some more mc stuff soon, and it can be good to have chop break blocks decently too in case they have a bit of a block left or something. It is up to you.

So virtually, lets entertain the thought. With 90'ish agility, i could say punch a bear repeatedly without him even getting in a hit on me?

Doubtful... the cooldowns are also based on a delta formula, base*sqrt(youragi/theiragi) capped at 0.5*base and 2*base...
and I think bears have agility higher than 90. Be careful if you try and fight them.
edit: they also have pretty high ua.

Agi definitely isn't weighed the same as combat delta. Even comparing 10 agi characters to 50 agi characters, it's not a full second of difference. In the past it capped at a 75% to 125% difference, so it may still be something similar.

yes, my mistake

I think @ 4x the agility of your opponent you used to get 50% faster moves than them... I think it was still a sqrt formula though.

I feel like I would prefer brass knuckles to a sword in a 1v1 due to the moves currently in the game and how they synergise, but in reality pvp is blatantly all about multiple people using chop on 1 target for an instakill. especially when you see people have b12's.

Sometimes I wish I knew what you nerds were talking about, until then I'll randomly punch things and continue dying.
