How exactly does Fate work ?
is there a stat to increase it ?

What if Fate Replenish over time and decreases when you pick up a Fate Item should I try to avoid picking up things like Bloated Bolete ?

What we do know: It's not random. Repetitively doing a task over and over will yield less fate. It's either not time based or not strictly time based, as afking for hours does not seem to improve what fate items you find/get.
What we don't know: Everything else.
