List of causes of death

Postby hitori » Sun Oct 04, 2015 11:00 pm

is there any?
like,
- muder by character
- murder by animal
- swimming
- starving
- emm..some dot damage while KO'ed

what else?
and is there a way to die under a cave in?
what are the KO penalties?

The game has no "causes of death" other than "reach 0 or less HHP." Anything that can cause HP loss can be a cause of death.

Nobody knows if KO only from cave-ins is a feature or bug, though, and if it only persists on L1 or goes deeper.

Other than laying unconscious until you regen SHP back? There is no penalty to getting KO'd per se, but if you take more HP damage than you have SHP, you'll always KO and lose the difference in HHP.

As for the "murder by animal", all animals deaggro when they KO you, but anything that still has an attack queued against you will do one last attack before deaggroing. This is more relavant for packs of ants and bats. Animals
do not aim to murder people unlike legacy haven and animals sometimes attack you have they KO you (like packs of Aurochs). I've been KO'd by one of every animal (ants, bats, badgers, foxes, boars, bears) and I'm still standing so unless your character is in bad shape or gets pack attacked you should be able to get by without any permanent damage.

ok, back to caveins
i was hitted by one for like ~150 while my current HHPs were 60
so perhaps it's a bug and i should be dead by now?

I've not started mining yet, so can't really say anything other than what's been posted on the forums, which is that cave-ins never drop you below 0 shp, ie you don't take HHP damage.

Cave ins hit for shp equal to your max hhp, so nothing weird going on there probably. On l2 the cave ins still only KO so i assume it's probably consistent all the way down.

can anyone confirm that cave ins on l2 cause no hhp damage?

I don't think cave ins in eternal alpha are supposed to kill you, otherwise Jorb and Loftar would have put bats in it.

I mean, i tried it with an alt and it didn't do any hhp damage :P. I'm not gonna break another support to take a screenshot or anything tho, the last experiment i did broke like 3 mine supports.
