Locked in

Postby nottheonlybear » Thu Oct 08, 2015 1:34 am

So I made the rookie mistake of removing my gate key whilst building and then proceeded to lean on my keyboard and shortcut'ed to hearth.

Now I'm locked in my palisade without the strength to break out. I figure I could probably declaim and wait the week or so for the palisade to degrade, but I don't even know if that would work.
Any suggestions?

Declaim should eventually get decay hits to bust down your wall
You could also try bashing your hearthfire and logging out while carrying something, should give you the option to spawn in the wilderness

Declaim looks like my only option and that will take a week or so I guess.
Not strong enough to destroy my hearth and carrying something/logging out doesn't result in anything.

Might just have to start a new character and try and find myself.

You should be able to ignore the hardness of your own hearth, if i'm not mistaken.

Str 11...

Somehow managed to level everything to at least 25 except Str + Psyche.
I've declaimed and started another character to play in the mean time of waiting for it to collapse.

Odds are, you'll probably develop the new character more before the claim and walls collapse.

As far as raising attributes goes, be a bit mindful of which foods you eat. Try get one large boost (say from fish early game) for a stat, then a few variety foods with just that stat. It's a bit of a complicated mini game until you get the hang of it. You might need to eat some of your ant warriors instead of just studying them for STR. Otherwise, it is one of the harder ones to get up very early game until you can reliably hunt boars or bears.

And PSY is just something you shouldn't worry about unless you plan on basing your curio diet on ritual items or making a lot of jewelry and silk. It's too hard to raise otherwise.

Yeah I kinda fucked up this time with my str. I've played other worlds before but it's always good to get more advice on play styles, so thanks for that.
Had the chance to log in earlier and someone found my key, opened my gate for me and left with the key. Thankfully I have another claim not to far away I was in the process of moving to!
