Minehole placing

Postby hitori » Thu Oct 08, 2015 7:50 pm

Ok so i managed to find an iron node using rustroot liquid, built a palisade around and moved there

Now i have to place a mine hole, should i do it right on the tile marked 'iron directly below'? will I waste some iron tiles this way?
Or may be I should place the hole like 10 tiles near and mine to the right direction to get to the iron?

Another weird thing: all the tiles around that marked one say that there's some useless stone bellow. Is it ok? I dont want to end up with a minehole with 1 iron ore tile :)

Mine holes turn the squares directly beneath them into empty space, you probably want to put it a few tiles to the side.

You can very rarely find a single tile of an ore, but there will usually be more ore fairly close to it.

As for the minehole. Build it 4-5 tiles away from the ore, it's not massively important but it'll stop you wasting it.
