When building multiple walls..

Postby Kinglazy » Wed Oct 14, 2015 7:07 pm

Say I am building a large square shaped palisade. Then later I would like to build a brick wall on the inside frame, should I place it a distance from the palisade or right next to it? I've seen some other villages do it with a distance between walls and was wondering if there is a mechanical or strategic reason for this.

Also, do doors and walls take the same amount of damage to break? or are gates easier to break?

Every part of wall should be equal hard to break. I suggest you to build brickwall in outer side of your palisade. Just more practical that way.

I just thought we could leisurely work on it in the safety inside the palisade instead of having to go out and possible griefers trying to destroy it mid construction.

What about the distance thing?

Few more segments isnt that bad. In worst case scenario somone can break palisade outside and build something nasty with it. Even though you can destroy it pretty easily after its constructed i wouldnt take risk.

The only distance that matters is how far a ram can roll. If you build the brick outside, more than 25 tiles from the palisade, then your attackers would need to have a pally basher or repair/build another ram to get inside both walls.

I see. How long does it take to destroy a wall with a ram? Can I repair the wall while its getting destroyed?

Depends on the strength of the people using the ram. But 4 people with 30-40 STR will break a Palisade in 2 min or less.

You can repair the wall while its being rammed.

Generally, if you see a ram in action, there is going to be a broken wall.
