Palisades and inherited characters

So, my last character died with the only key to my palisade.

Is there some mechanic allowing my new character to not be fucked in terms of continuing to use that base, short of ramming down the gate and rebuilding?

If you kept your master key on your main, then yes, you're in shit. And well deserved. You should have made an alt that would hold all keys, so you can make new slave keys when you die.

Yeah, I figured as much.

At the very least, Denothos drowned with the master key, so no danger there. Getting the base usable again is going to be a pain in the ass, but luckily I had a bear cape stashed and left a way out via long cave route.

At least now you can try agro'ing animal and hope them to bash your palisade.

You can get out of palisade. Destroy your claim and wait for few weeks to few months until your palisade rots away. It happens randomly so you might have to wait very long time.
