Mine support stop mine hole?

Postby maze » Mon Oct 19, 2015 5:32 pm

I'm not 100% on this, but I happen to be placing down a mine hole and got "the area below is occupied."
I have a mine support bellow the mine hole so im wondering if the radars of the support stops mine holes above.

if so, thank you. i like this feature.

~ but really I never have mined. im not a miner. i never place mine holes. so i don't know how these things work xD

but the question is. does the mine support it or is it because it cant create the 7x7 room bellow cuz maybe a rock pile is in the way?

usually last world. a mine whole would emerge on the level below in a 7 x 7 area.

If you on the lower level, place even a sign post or cupboard or anything within that 7 x 7 grid, so there was no way to have a mine hole emerge there then you couldn't build a mine hole from above.

So if there is no open space for a 7x7 grid to fit in to, you couldnt be "mined into"

It used to be a fairly common tactic, people maintaining underground bases would make sure never to leave large areas of the base without some kind of hitbox object so that someone couldn't tunnel into the base from above.
