Raising DEX

Postby Uriel_Ventris » Sat Oct 24, 2015 1:22 pm

What are the foods to raise dexterity?

While stats like strength, perception, constitution and charisma are easily upgradable with multitude of pure food. With the dexterity I am unable to find the same amount of recipes :( :(

For now I use cooked chicken, chanterelles, clams and pirozskis.

Some other recipes that are good for raise dex?

You could get quality chickens, but it'll be a while before they're good enough. Boiled mussels ftw.

In addition to what has already been said, these foods provide dex too, but most also provide other stats, so mix and match them as needed.

Chicken Salad
Perched Perch
Roach Wrap
Liver and Onions
Chicken Chorizo

I didn't see anyone mention creamy cock if you have cheese production (it's not on jorb's "Not implemented" list, anyway)

Good plan except for this one part:

Don't forget to use the variety bonuses, as you can get both roasted chicken and spit roasted chicken. If you're really trying to push one attribute with as little food as possible, you can smoke dried hemp buds and use pepper on your food (grow peppercorns, boil at a cauldron, dry on herbalist table, then grind).

You can easily hit 100 DEX with what is here without breaking the bank. You should be able to hit 200 without much quality increase, and higher as quality goes up

If you fish, Roasted Asp gives a pure +4 Dex at 10/10/10.
High quality boiled mussels are probably best to spam though, as they can get to very low Hunger %, meaning you can eat several and only move your hunger like 1%. Basically like high quality carrots for Perception.

I actually hate DEX, lots of chickens where I settled and always ended up eating them because I still had nothing else to eat... Didn't bother with stat diets back then... Now I'm suffering hell to raise my other stats because those damn chickens gave me like 80 Dex before my STR was even 20 lol.

my stats are all now in the 20-30 range but the above is what i used to bring my dex from 14-27 the other day in one go @ 20% into 200%, and ate till 100% was almost full. i ended up getting about 6-8 pts in other stats also, but the dex went up rather well.

and these recipes are rather easy to do, all you need is to sit and fish for the fish, in the right place of course, and onions(the only thing that requires a time investment via farming) chantrells, and entrials to make the majority of the above.

i cant make the chicken salad yet or the chicken chirozo as i think they require batter and/or pepper and mine are still growing and taming(cow) , so i dunno about it,

BUT 2 of the better dex items haven't been mentioned, the empress(from anthills) and the bloated bolette(fate find and P*E is irrelevant) are +4-+8 ish items for dex.

i would really love for someone to explain this. i keep finding tidbits on it but never a full description, my asumption is, the more different base types of food you eat, the less total fep you need to fill for the point in a stat. so eating a berry, a fish a roasted item a spitroasted item a baked item etc.. all makes the total feps needed for next point decrease from say(mine is 38) 38 to possibly 20 something per point?? or am i totally off base here?

You got it right. There are 9 kind of berries and they can reduce the ammount of stuff you need to eat by a lot. They are great as they barely reduce any hunger(most of them with exception of raspberry?). You could throw into that some farmed goods too if your stats are high enough for it to just be little chance of gaining other stat. Comes in handy especially when you are feeding your miner above 200 str :P

For your dex you'll probably just need few different berries and you'll be good to go. Collecting berries might take some time but it's totaly worth it!
