Taming an AurochS

Postby Inzainia » Sun Oct 25, 2015 1:50 pm

Ok guys, its that time, i think???

ok my ua is at 50 my agi is 36, according to sevenless' guide i'm good to go for both mouflon and auroch, but i am unable to find any information about their moves.

what attack colors do they use?

after browsing/searching the forums all i have been able to find is how to tame them, no info on the actual combat itself. I don't mind learning by doing, but even some basic info would be greatly appreciated going into this.

Right now the plan is to immediately hit the yield button, and then maintain green blue and yellow defences at all times, while using left hook/chop combos to take it down. (might just use the initial chop to lower it some then left hook till done) depending on its defense refresh speed.

thanks folks, preciate any info.

Fight him near a cliff / house / boat so that you can escape if things go wrong.

You only need beginner fu to tame both auroch and mouflon as per sevenless guide. They attack with either blue and green with yellow IP attack. Just need blue + green fast cooldown defense, and Jump. plus green punch (because its fast cooldown), then refresh all defense and keep punching. This work with boars also, just that you either need yellow or blue attack to not trigger tusk romp.

chop might killed mouflon straight away, so I'd advise to just punch and be patient.

Do remember to have a fullset of ql10+ leather armor to deflect and absorb any careless mistake. Would suck hard if you got KO'ed while taming a 95% almost tamed auroch.
Or get a fullset of plate armor and you dont even need to worry about defense.

Just do the quick dodge/punch combo. It's foolproof, and with 50 UA you're only going to get a few nicks&knacks that you probably won't notice. Get some armor and you'll laugh at how easy it is. You can throw in one chop at the beggining to make things faster, just don't overdo it. And remember to rehitch them after taming.

to everyone else, thanks much for all the info, im relatively new, but have killed ants bats and foxes rather easily. hopefully this will go well. i did tie another cow up ...just incase lol.

Quick dodge and watch it move (or yield ground if you have it) would be the best because of the short cooldown. Occasionally jump when you see them starting to accumulate IP, they will yellow attack after gaining 3 IP (or was it 2) and then green punch to glory (with cutthroat knuckle if you have it) should only take less then a min.

The tedious part is to wait for its next taming cycle. It seems like the taming wait time randomly changes from 20 hours to 30 hours and anything in between every cycle (for boar and auroch). Taming process itself is piece of cake, as you will learn pretty soon.

Before this goes further, it is "an aurochs". As in "ox". Not everything that ends with an s is a plural.

Fun fact: an alternate spelling actually IS "aurox" thus the plural form.
