Fuel quality

Postby Drevar » Tue Oct 27, 2015 1:40 am

Which machines/crafting actions consider the fuel quality in the outcome?

Obviously Tar Kilns use the wood quality that is being converted (qualities capped by quality of kiln but nothing is calculated into the results), and it is known that smelting ore takes into account the coal qualities, but what else "requires" good fuels?

I don't think tar kilns have qualities.

Everything except cauldron and fireplace, I think. Cauldron might.

Tar Kilns have quality. You should avoid posting information you are not sure of in the help forum.

Hence the think part, and why other people can post correcting me - further informing myself and the op. :) thanks.

Pretty much everything other than the fireplace considers fuel quality. Kilns and smelters are the big ones that you care about since their products are pretty influential.

What about cauldrons?

Cauldrons are weird and possibly bugged, but my boiled mussel definitely took quality from the Q6 mulberry block I used to fuel it lol. Everything input was Q10+, no skill capping, and I got a S9 as part of my result.

I noticed rennet didn't seem to be influenced by water quality for example. So not sure what's intended and what's bugged with cauldrons atm.

I just tested fuel Q last night, I saw 0 difference from Q10 branches and Q20 branches. Was it a metal cauldron?

Yes it was. Who knows, might have been patched since then, or it could be soft cap only...?
