How do I make Fire?

Yeah that old chestnut again, it's a pain in the arse when you light your smelter, then forget to light your oven and even your campsite/kiln and have you sit through that crappy firebrand crafting anim 3 or four times.

Is bringing an ALT ALL the way over to my HQ and giving it a lit torch and only logging in/out when needed a done thing?

Light a fully fueled fireplace in the morning, get a torch and light whatever you want for the whole day.

You need to hold it in your hand if you want it to keep being lit after you walk away from the fireplace, so make sure one hand slot is empty

Is "lighting the torch in a fire" really a far-fetched idea? That was the first thing i tried when i made my first torch.

Yup was the first thing I tried, lit many a torch on the stoves in Salem I tells ya. Would log out with the torch in my hand so I have a perma light source

Don't logout with it. It'll just burn all the fuel
I did logout with a torch having around 40% fuel. Came back next day to unlit torch with 0% fuel.
