Banner Pigments

Postby Jesterz » Tue Oct 27, 2015 6:41 pm

Has anyone figured out how to make any pigments yet? I have made the oil but it didn't give me a discovery. also rediscovered cinnabar and it didn't give me anything new. Perhaps we can make a list here of what each pigment requires.

Black - .2 kg Ash 1 Butter
Blue - 1 Blueberry 1 Bone Glue
Green - 1 Fresh Pipeweed 1 Bone Glue
Purple - 2 Cinnabar 1 Egg
Red - 2 Poppy Flower 1 Entrail
White - .1L Flour .1L Milk
Yellow - 1 Nightshade Berry 2 Bone Glue
Orange - 3 Pumpkin Flesh 10 Tar
Turquoise - 1 Slag 1 Egg

Not sure if I missed any. These are only the ones I have unlocked at this moment.

You need to have seen a sketchbook before the pigments are available.

I have discovered everything from silk to bronze, purple and turquoise wont unlock.

Why does my pattern even require them?

White: 10%
Turquoise: 0%
Red: 36%
Purple: 0%
Black: 31%

You probably have some stray pixel or something in there. You need slag.

Turquoise is indeed slag+egg.

But purple still eludes me. Cinnabar and egg discovered, no dice.

BTW, picture does not have a single pixel stray since it is a reduced palette one :/

I find pictures with any form of shading it where purple and turquoise come from. Best to find a simple picture with no shading like patterns.

Grey would be a nice palette addition imo.

There is no shading, there are only three colours. Like said, I reduced the palette to 3 colours to make sure.

Edit: further testing proves this shit to be random as fuck. Rescaling the image to smaller size halves the linseed oil requirement but doubles turquoise req... Yo, your shit is fukken broken. 0 compression PNG with 3 colour palette ends up still having artefacts w. turquoise and pink.

Yeah my picture I want is black and white. But transition between the colours makes it need 1% turquoise. A grey palette would be awesome.
